Then Girls Night Out Hockey is the perfect match for you! Here is what we have been waiting for. A chance to finally play hockey on a regular basis! That's right! No more traveling the state of Florida looking for another women's team to play. No more playing with or against males. No more ultra-competitive, win, win, win types of programs. Just the simple, FUN game of hockey! We are the ONLY women's hockey group in South Florida who plays locally on a weekly basis ALL YEAR LONG!
Our CreedGirls Night Out Hockey is an inclusive program, providing players of all skill levels the opportunity to grow and succeed in a nurturing environment while playing a competitive sport. Players new to the game will feel welcomed by an all-encompassing, supportive atmosphere which creates not only a fondness for the sport of hockey, but also lasting friendships with each other. No player will EVER be turned away or discouraged to play.
Who We AreGirls Night Out Hockey promotes affordable hockey in a supportive environment for girls and women of all skill levels. Beginners, as always, are welcomed and encouraged. Girls Night Out Hockey is a program run by women, FOR women. We realize that hockey is but a small part of a woman's life that serves many purposes: It's a source of meeting new friends; a great form of exercise; and a wonderful diversion from the stresses of everyday life. Once hockey feels more like the burden of a second job rather than the fun, exciting game that it is, then we all have done you a tremendous disservice. Our Golden Rule: That you are sensitive to the skill levels of those around you; and to respect yourself, respect your team and respect your opponents.
Here's what they're saying:
"I love it--I am totally addicted. Enamored! I only wish I'd known earlier, how much fun it is to play and not just watch." -- Michelle Hopkins
"I like playing.....it's really cool!" -- Allison Romb, 16
"Kirsten was soooo encouraging, she (and EVERYONE for that matter) was AMAZING.....If you talk to Kirsten, please tell her (and everyone) how wonderful they all made me feel.....I am officially 100% addicted. I'd have to go to a clinic to detox if I ever had to stop." -- Jessica Pac, after her first hockey game "Now that I have found you, there is no way I am letting go!" -- Stephany Hamel "That was the most fun I have had all season! THANK YOU Ladies for welcoming me to your ladies night out." - Maggie Speckmann Our DirectorsHeather Levow: Heather has built a successful women's golf tour in Florida. She brings her knowledge and her drive to Girls Night Out Hockey which has been a tremendous asset to this group. Karen Ota: Karen is the original founder of women's hockey here in South Florida. (Our hockey god-mother so to speak) Every woman skating here in South Florida can trace her beginnings back to Karen, or someone Karen introduced to ice hockey. Every woman !! Without Karen, we would all be doing something else. Thank you Karen for your many years of hard work! Kelley Madigan: Kelley is a successful business owner and is our voice of reason. The ideas and concepts she has brought to the table have proven to be the component Girls Night Out Hockey has been missing. Stephanie Walsh: Stephanie is our beginner specialist. She remembers what it was like to start out and is always there with a kind word and a pat on the back. She was also the founder of the first ever Co-ed league to be played in the South Florida area, which some say was a precursor to the Girls Night Hockey League we have today. Stephanie is also part of an all female coaching staff which coaches two different hockey teams, yet another first in this area. Sue Eichler: Sue comes to us from Canada. She too is a successful business owner and a woman who has proven she can get things done. In 2004, she helped start the first women's summer league with Stephanie at Glacier, which was the first women's league of its kind anywhere in South Florida. Sue brings her hockey experience and wisdom to the table and is a vocal catalyst for the growth of women's hockey in South Florida.
